How to tell if slide out is compressing the seal enough

I'm having a leak coming in on the floor by the bed when my slide is closed. I pressurized the RV and I'm getting bubbles at the bottom of the seal when I spray the soapy solution on it. How do I tell if the seal is compressed enough?

I'm surprised that you didn't have bubbles coming from all over your RV.
These things are barely water-resistant; much less airtight!
It doesn't really need to be compressed: just making uninterrupted contact across it's full span should suffice.

Thanks for your reply. You may be aware that this is the way R/V repair shops test for water leaks. Just have to be careful not to over pressurize.

How much pressure is not too much? Rainwater is unpressurized. I know that is how shops test and I wouldn’t care for them do it to mine. In fact, I think they do it just so they CAN blow bubbles and sell their “repair” services. If you’re not getting water in your unit then your seals are working. If you are they are not.

Several of us have had leaks on the floor under the slide. Most have been fixed by sealing the trim around the outside of the slide. I guess you could call it the flange trim.
You can take a look at https://www.thorforums.com/forums/f8...eak-13689.html post #11 for a pic.
