Front cap marker light

I have a 2018 Freedom Elite. One of the LED marker lights doesn’t work. It looks like you can pry/pop it out but I don’t want to break anything in the process. Has anyone gotten these out and do they just pop out? Thanks.

UPDATE: Don’t want to be one of those drive by posters. They do pop out, BUT it was a bear to get out. I put a squirt of WD-40 around it and with some interior trim removal tools and some breath holding it came out. There was a blob of adhesive on the wiring that made it a bit tougher to get out.

So, how do you change the bulb or does the light assembly just unplug and replace?

I’ve been cussing Thor out today (shocking huh!) at what appears may be a plug in there’s enough electrical tape wrapped around and around to restrain a small gorilla. Luckily there’s enough wire that I can cut/solder/shrink wrap it and put the gorilla back to bed……

I'd be checking for 12 VDC in the wires before I cut them to verify the LED is bad and not the wiring.

Thanks for the advance exploration. I have 2 out and working up the courage to reach out there from the roof.

Mine had a blob of adhesive (yellow circle) that made it tough to get out. I had to use a razor knife and cut it off of the wire.

Where did you find replacements? Are they just a bulb or a whole unit?

I found it at Lazy Days RV it was $9.95. The one nearest me is pretty high priced but they had ONE in stock and I was there.

I bought those lights 4 or 5 years ago on ebay. They were like $10.00 for a dozen.

There’s plenty of wire now😁 There hardest part was getting the old lights out. It looked like Thor put some adhesive on the back side. Both lights were that way so I put a blob of acetoxy silicone sealant on the grommet before I put the light in.

That style clearance light is notorious for providing a place for water intrusion. The rubber gasket gets cooked in the Sun, becomes brittle, then doesn’t seal. At 6 mos old, 2 of mine fell out in my hand while inspecting for water intrusion. And I would suggest not using WD40 on any rubber. It’s petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber. I use mineral oil or Murphy’s soap. I then glopped the lights good with proflex when reinstalling.

I agree with WD-40. I used it on the old one (the new light came with a grommet. I put a good amount of sealant on the new ones. I’ll have to keep an eye on the other three when I wax the front cap.👍
