Windshield wipers don’t stop

Anyone else have this issue and have a fix. Windshield wipers won’t turn off. Turn on in the rain and switched off, they just keep right on going and stop minutes later. Does this every time that I use them in the rain. Occasionally I have to stop and turn engine off to get them to stop. This is crazy.
