Front LED lights

Does anyone have a source for the LEDs on the front of Thor motorhomes?

The one on our Axis look like the generic at wally world and auto parts stores.
Tweety's or PPL may have something on line. Might also check on Amazon or Ebay under their RV sections.

Do you need the whole light fixture; or just a replacement LED?

Our 2015 Hurricane has LED strip lights under the headlights. A number of the individual LEDs have gone out. I suspect that Thor installed 12 volt LEDs and the higher voltages generated by the alternator and house converter/charger are overdriving them causing the burnout. I bought a replacement LED strip but haven’t put it in (a lot of work involved removing the headlight assembly) until I can work out a strategy for limiting the voltage to 12v.

Tom, I have the same issue. Looking at the situation. I might just use 3M automotive tape and go right Over the original without taking it out. The key here is to Make Sure you clean surface with rubbing alcohol prior to setting new strip and Only use 3M automotive product. **What was your source for new Led strip?

Revjeffrey: I bought waterproof LED strip on Amazon. Your idea about adding it on top of the existing strip sounds interesting. If I can limit the voltage, maybe I will try it. Plan B might be to clip the wires to the existing strips and forget it. The lights don’t serve any real purpose on my coach because the headlights are on whenever the rv is in gear.

I looked it over, old led strip would make flatter, straighter more secure base than removing and re-applying.

On my Hurricane there is a row of individual LEDS below the headlight assembly. Each LED is set in the fiberglass of the front end and individually wired. I have one of these individual LEDs burned out on each side. I have looked on Amazon, eBay etc and cant find a direct match. I emailed Thor and they told me to go to Camping World. I don't really want to go to CW, I'm doing a soft boycott.

I have a rule to almost never say never. My only hard boycott is the NFL.

After you find one of these lights, what is the procedure for installing it? Will you have to remove the headlight fixture or is there an easier way to get to it? I ask because I have one burned out and I'm sure more are yet to come.

I have a theory that these LEDs are rated for 12 volts and are unhappy when the alternator supplies 14+ volts to recharge the batteries. It seems to me that the LED strips are very bright, even in the daytime. Before I replace my strips, I’m going to look into wiring a 7812 regulator integrated circuit to limit the voltage to 12 maximum. Anybody tried this?
