Front LEDs on 2018 Thor Windsport

We've been doing a lot of driving in the PNW these last few weeks. Please excuse the filthy front end but I wanted to post this picture of my headlight surround. I discovered two non-working LEDs in the arrays that surround the headlights, one on each side.

Anyone have any experience replacing these? I figured I'd get in touch with Thor tomorrow but after some searching I haven't found another thread on this issue.

I thought I'd posted a very similar thread this morning, but it looks like the post was lost.

Which aren't working? We thought the same on our Aria 4000 then determined that fog lights and turn signal lamps are part of the headlight cluster.

There are 12 small LED bulbs surrounding the headlights. One bulb on each side of the coach (in different positions) is not illuminating.

They burn out pretty regularly on my coach. I took one out, measured it and then bought a bag of 25 on ebay. The bag cost like 5 bucks and now I have a supply that should last a couple of years.

So..how do you get them out? Do you need to take the entire headlight fixture off from inside the front cap or is there an easier way. Just sliding under the front it looks like I need five foot arms to get the mounting bolts off the headlight fixture.

On my coach, they are held in place by a rubber grommet around the LED. I can push them out from inside the engine bay. My front lights do not have a chrome bezel surrounding the strip of LEDs like yours.

Yeah that's the real question here. I worry pushing on them will break the entire assembly. I can easily reach mine with the generator access door open, but understand some coaches might not have that luxury. The lights themselves seem to be encased in a molded cylinder housing and even that looks likes it may be one molded piece with all the other lights... I hoped the back would screw off of the rest of the molded plastic cylinder, but that's not how it works.

I looked at the LEDs on my Hurricane today and the 3 in the chrome bezel appear to be the same as the ones held in by rubber grommets through the fiberglass front end. It looks like they are a press fit into the chrome bezel. If one of my chrome LEDs goes out I think that I could press it out. I may have to remove the entire light fixture and do it on the bench, but I think it would be doable. It would be less expensive than a whole new light fixture since I already have the spare LEDs.

I'll try to get some photos in the morning... well maybe later in the day, to compare our system

I have these same LEDs on my ACE but so far after 2 yrs they all appear to work. I would be interested is pics of how to extricate them in case the need arises.

I kind of have similar LED lighting around my headlights.... if it stops raining I can check mine... I’m guessing they are all similar in mounting and removing 2018 Hurricane 34PClick image for larger version

Well I dropped the coach off at the dealer today. These lights were one of the MANY squawks. I pled with the service manager to insure that he demonstrates how the lights get changed before I leave...then again he's already broke other promises he has made.

Had the same issue on our NEW 2019 Axis, one bulb each side didn't work. Thor sent two complete replacement clusters as the bulbs are glued in and I guess impossible to replace separately. I had to remove the clusters as the bulbs are permently afixed to them. You'd think there'd be a better way.

Front LEDs on 2018 Thor Windsport

2017 Windsport here. I’ve replaced those LED running lights. Here are some pics that I hope will be helpful. You do NOT have to remove the whole headlight assembly, thank goodness! (At least not on the Windsport)
The individual LED lights can be pulled out from the front. I found that a standard automotive panel “plastic rivet” tool worked perfectly (see pic).
Also attached is an excerpt from my post in a FB group with more info on the part number and ordering source.
Hope this helps others!Click image for larger version
