Batteries gurgling

I have a 2017 Miramar 37.1
4-each six volt batteries. I noticed after i shut down the coach. I heard slit gurgling coming from the batteries. Is this normal?

Thanks

No. What voltage is your alternator putting out?

This could be bad.
You're going to want to wash the area down with a baking soda solution as the off gas will eat stuff.

Can you smell them?

Go to a pro tomorrow.

Thanks. Prior to starting the coach. I failed to mention. I had the batteries hooked up to a 100 watt solar panel with a Renogy controller. The batteries were at 14.4 volts at 100 percent.

Depending on your controller configuration, it likely has an Equalization Mode that occasionally (~once a onth) boosts the charge voltage about 10% higher than normal to remove sulfate crystals that build up on the plates over time. When in this mode some "bubbling" of the acid will occur.

A good quality Converter Charger and about all Inverter Chargers will also have an equalization mode.

I had boiling batteries after using the inverter for microwave or coffee and other loads at the same time.

Charging at high rates to recover resulted in hot batteries also.

Compartment was getting corroded and so were the battery cables.

The fix was Trojan T105 AGM's three years ago

Took 1/2 cleaning up the compartment, repainting, and cleaning up the battery cables

Over time the cables will corrode and have to be replaces with FLA batteries

Over 7 years on the Chassis sealed FLA batteries and time to change them prior to taking out this fall

Thanks, i checked my battery compartment and battery fluid level. I saw some corrosion so took it all apart, re painted, put in protective pads and re installed.
