gas vapor?

Does anyone know where the gas tank vent is on my '18 Axis 25.2 (E450 chassis)?
Several times, I have had my vapor detector go off right after filling up. It takes 15-20 minutes of the roof vent open & fan on before it clears the air enough to stop the incessant beeping!

If you find the 'gas tank vent',
What's the plan?

We don't want to turn a novice loose in an explosive situation.

Is the vehicle engine and/or generator running while you're filling up?

Neither are running---I've been filling vehicle tanks for over 60 years!

If found, I would either seal leaks in floor near the detector or reroute the vent.

This has been a problem since the coach was new?
Is it a new/newish problem of late?

I'm pretty pretty sure, though not dead sure, there is no tank vent but there is a charcoal vapor cannister return system.

I'm pretty sure my detector has a reset button on it.
It sometimes, if I'm welding in the shop, comes back on once or twice.
What does yours do if you hit reset?

Are you talking gasoline vent (no such thing in modern vehicles)?

Or Propane vent (right ther on the tank and only used during filling operations)?

And by "vapor detector", do you mean the CO/LP detector?

Yes, gasoline; and yes, CO/LP detector.
If no vent, then the cap itself must vent.

There may be a vapor valve on top on the tank that runs to a charcoal canister.

Is the problem new or old?
Why do you think it must vent? They've been banned since the 70's.
Today's vented caps vent to the tank not from the tank, one way.

No reset, only a test/reset combo button. Will try that next time.
I didn't know that was also a reset button until I looked closely! Thanks ducksface.

I THINK I might have found the problem. See pics.
I will remove the outside 'cover' and see if I can seal that cavity area better.
Not today, but in near future.

You may have an evap problem, although that should trigger the MIL. If you have access to a smoke machine you could check.

Nah, I'll buy the better fluid and a reserve better fluid and all accoutrements and I'll hit $100+.
Unfortunately tools in the Behemoth bloom from a single to a box full with accessories.

I'm not sure of the only 2 ratings thing but everyone starts at zero whether good or bad.
I'm pretty sure I want one with a pressure guage.

And
It made me think.
Years ago someone I know had a company come out and hook a big fan to their front door opening and measured some sort of house pressure for some sort of reason.

How about if;
We did such to an rv using a smoke machine?
Every hole and crack and mouse access would appear magically...

Is this/can this be a thing?

Negative. All gasoline vapors are in a sealed system and recovered/burned in the engine.

Leave you gas cap loose and see how fast you get a check engine light.

Nope! I've forgotten to replace the cap twice already, and no CEL.

Some gasoline pumps are not sealed to the tank fill port when re fueling. I never had the CO/LP detector go off but a few times if I spilled gasoline on the side of the motorhome or on the ground the odor did enter inside my bathroom (that is right over the fill port). If the CO/LP sensor was closer maybe it would go off.

Well, I finally got around to removing the fill enclosure. Hummm; it's totally one sealed unit behind there, but I did silicone the wall where the enclosure meets it all the way to the exterior, and also the fill enclosure to the exterior wall.
Hopefully this will fend off a few more gas vapors! Time will tell.
