Gemini Furnace Warning - Get it Checked!!!
We own a 2018 Thor Gemini 23TB and wanted to warn others that they should check their furnaces intake and exhaust tubes. You can do this with a flashlight at the outside ports. The last time we started the furnace we got strong fumes into the coach. I inspected the furnace and found that the exhaust pipe was totally missing and was pouring the furnace exhaust into our coach. Inspecting further I found that the pipes were not long enough and did not line up with the ports in the furnace. Apparently it was somewhat okay and did not kill us for a while since we usually used the heat pump. The service people I took it to told me that since the pipe on the exhaust was not connected at all to the furnace it broke off from the movements of the coach down the road.
HERE IS THE REALLY IMPORTANT FACT: I would bet that Thor purchases the materials to make the coaches in bulk. So, how many Gemini and Compass coaches have exhaust pipes from the furnace that are too short and may kill someone?
In case you are wondering I wanted to warn others so that people would not get carbon monoxide poisoning. I also told Thor customer service this. Of course, they will not cover it under warranty since it did not kill us in the first year of use.
