Generator on 2020 Hurricane 33x
The push button to start generator on coach dash has no power, meaning generator does not attempt to start.
What is the probable problem? Suggestions? If fuse is a possible reason, where might I find it.
I am not mechanically inclined.
Doug

Does it start from the generator itself?

I wasn’t kidding about not being mechanically inclined. I had no idea you could start it at the generator. Sorry to impose but how is that done?

Open the compartment door for your generator and you should see a start switch right on the generator cover. If it starts with that switch then you may have a remote switch connection problem (not a fuse issue).
It it does nothing with the local switch then you have another issue such as:
Bad starter
Dead house batteries
Tripped 100 amp DC breaker near the house batteries that supplies the starting power for the generator.

Actually I had to download manual to find out how to remove cover before doing anything. Initially found two screws just right of cover, but all they did was turn and not loosen anything, but it’s well over a hundred degrees here now so I will attempt again when cooler and I have the manual with me.

When you get the green cover off, if your ONAN 5500 is like mine, Push the start button that is in the white circle of the picture (left side of genset) for 5 - 10 seconds.
Note: Be MENTALLY prepared for it to actually start. When I first started mine like this; it scared the living Beejeevers out of me But hey, it started.
There are no moving parts, but since you are a newbie; you can at least brace in the event it starts.
In the event it does not start but tries to turn over; do not hold that start button longer than 25 seconds or so. Let it rest and try a gain a minute or two later.
While you are there; check the oil. The Yellow cap in the same picture.
Good luck

Hold the start switch in the off position for 20 seconds to prime the generator and then push start.

You don't need to Prime unless the Generator is out of Gas? I have only primed my Onan 5500 once, and that was right after they installed the AGS on the inside and I was verifying the Prime function would work with new Controller (It did). My Onan 5500 starts every time in 3 -5 secs of pushing the START button; just like the Manual says.
Also, for the record; if Priming were necessary, as he is Starting from Genset; so you do not use the Start & OFF position switch on the remote rather the STOP / PRIME side of the toggle switch on the physical genset; my Manual says to hold the Prime for 30 seconds; but we don't want to confuse the OP who is simply trying to debug at the moment.

Able to Start
I was able to start generator from both the gender and AGS panel inside coach. With that I’m happy.
Thanks to all who responded to this neophyte

I hate auto word correct. ‘gender’ above was typed and meant to say “genset “

Glad all is well. BTW - I have to prime my 4000 for a count to 45.
