started generator today and will not turn off with switch by the door or on the dash , Had to stop it at the generator . what should I look for?

You need to look for the Make/Model of the generator and then the Make/Model of the unit the generator is installed in and post them here.

Locate the connection at the generator for the remote control and display, check it for corrosion.
