Generator just stopped

I have a 2017 Miramar 37.1.

Plugged into shore power. Started the generator. Generator ran for 5 minutes, then just stopped. Fuel tank is full.

Try starting again and count codes from flashing led

Fuel filter changed recently? What is the temperature there?

Mine stopped earlier this summer and the darn belt had broken at 200 hours

Get the error code to determine why it stopped instead of soliciting guesses. Procedure is in the manual as well as code explainations.

1. Temp is 50 degrees outside.
2. Just topped off the fuel tank.
3. No I haven’t changed the filter.
4. Dint know it had a belt?
4. I did smell gas.

Why would you start the generator while on shore power, I know there is a transfer switch but my dealer specifically told me not to start the generator while plugged in

And you believed your dealer? People start their generator while on SP all the time with no ill effects. The ATS is designed so that it is impossible for the generator output to be connected to the SP input.

Check the dipstick... The oil level should be mid way on the add to full area. Too low... It stops, too high and it stops.

There could be other issues but that's the easiest to check and remedy.

This happened to me. Assumed dealer checked oil. Made an ass outta me.

Correct my cousin had this issue

Mine has an altitude setting. It will throttle up and down and sometimes shut off if it’s set higher than it should. Seems I’m always having to go out there and adjust it to keep it running. Might try turning/adjusting that if you have one.

Replaced fuel filter and pump. Runs fine now. Fuel pump was not pumping fuel. When I took the hose off and tested.

And by the way, yes the ATS will convert shore power to generator AND it might get stuck doing so as mine has twice. Ruined the ATS in a most undesirable place (of course). Better to not take chances and just unplug.

Same thing happened to me. Turned out the chassis battery was shot.Put in a new battery and the generator started right up and everythng has been fine for the last 3 months.I don't have any idea why all I know is it runs fine now.

Had same problem and I fixed the same way..new fuel pump and filter..

Had service a Cummings and given 2 year warranty
