Generator offline?

2015 ACE 29.3, Onan 4000
Had this motorhome about two weeks so still on a learning curve, was running generator with AC on and a small fan, turned the hot water heater on and the generator went offline. Checked breakers and fuses in the coach, all looked ok, is there a breaker on the generator? Thor manual implies there is a breaker on control panel, is that the panel in the coach, or on generator?

Generator offline? As in stopped running or just did not provide power?
I am not aware of any breakers on the generator. If it shut down, could be that it overheated. Mine shutdown a few times this past week while driving in 100+ heat in TX.
If just no power, double check breakers on front side of bed and the breakers in the battery compartment.

if you have a generator, it HAS breakers on it, reset them

Your A/C takes about 16 amps on a hot day, your converter charger about 4 amps, the water heater 12 amps, a small fan requires the inverter so 5 amps. Total output of the generator is 33 amps if all it perfect. Your estimated draw 35 amps. I suspect you popped the generator circuit breaker located on the generator's electrical box.

There definately is a breaker on the front panel of the generator. Open the compartment and remove the generator cover and look closely for it marked Off / On. It is hard to find on the first go around. A.C. + Microwave + Skillet will do it every time too.

BOOM...great forum. Nice to travel the country with a dozen little experienced campers stowed away in your basement just waiting for something to break!

true, and most of us learn the hard way, just like you - experience is the best teacher.

One thought I've had for the factories is for them to provide an 'inside' alarm/alert, of some sort, to let the user KNOW that while the generator is running, the generator's breaker is TRIPPED. It's seems like a simple idea, but one that has not been implemented.

Although, a real good indication is...nothing is working but the generator! Haven't experienced this issue yet but didn't realize until his thread that the generator has it's own breaker!! Live and Learn...the best medicine!

Please find attached a picture for where the breaker is located. It is black and looks like a switch more so than a breaker, it's to the right of the start button down and back about 2 or 3 inches

We have a 2018 Miramar and our Generator does not have a breaker except for the two to the coach. Mine shut off on our last trip and still will not start.

You have 2 problems then. Your gen won't start and you haven't located the breaker. The breaker on the generator being tripped would not cause it not to start but would cause it to not put out power. Once when I had tripped the breaker on the generator I was looking all over and pushing all sorts of resets and stuff. I think I hit the house battery breaker ( the one with the little flag indicator) and the generator stopped running. I reset that one and restarted the generator. I finally looked closely at the generator and spotted the breaker handle in the OFF position. Once I reset that, the power came back on from the generator!
It is hard to find the 1st time araound.
