Generator Runs, than stops!
I have a 2018 Synergy SP24 Diesel Sprinter with a Cummins-Onan 3.2 HDZAA Diesel generator with 37 hours running time; the motorhome is 11 months old. I run the generator at least 1-2 hours per month as a minimum.
When I started the generator yesterday, it runs for 3-3.5 minutes than the entire generator 9(engine and electrical part) stops and the Display Board displays "Generator Alert ". This occurred three times in a row, so I stopped.
I have read the manual and it provides for three possibilities; all are too-tech for me. I want to bring the unit in for repair, but have to wait two weeks. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this should occur? anyone had any similar conditions?

check your oil level and air filter - if unsure of the oil age, change it and the oil filter. check the air filter and clean it and replace or re-oil depending on the type genny you have. Also check the fuel filter, the engine could be starving for fuel, Iv'e seen these clog up with bad fuel. Just my thoughts! Good luck

So, here is my update. The fuel filter, oil screen and oil level are appropriately working/functioning. The vehicle diesel fuel level read 3/8 of a tank. After contacting a dozen techs, Thor, Mercedes, etc., one tech told me to check my fuel level.
I told him that I know about the fuel level design concept prohibiting fuel to flow to the generator when the fuel tank level is less than one-quarter. He said that he has known where fuel will not go to the generator at even a 3/8 or even one-half level. Sure enough, I filled the tank and the generator has been working since my original posting. Go figure!

In this shoddy industry, I'm not the least bit surprised.

Well, at least it was an easy fix! Now you now for sure when you are out boondocking that you need more fuel in the tank.
