generator vent cover and shroud for Thor ACE

Recently a Thor ACE owner posted a thread about solving the problem of the generator motor overheating when using the generator while on the road. Can you tell me where to buy a generator vent cover and shroud? How much does the cover and shroud cost? Thank you, Pat Oakes

Hi, I am not sure of the specific post (you can try a search on this Forum), but I have seen references to Forest River and Fleetwood solutions. Thor offered up gen door grilles (just a grille) a few years ago (I got a free one but never installed it as I was concerned about road wash coming through it into the gen) when gen shutdowns on overheat were a big thing. I don’t recall ever seeing Thor offer a rubber shroud between the gen air intake and the door grille though. I am attaching some info captures I took of articles related to this issue which may help (FR part numbers I think)......plus a link to some info/pictures related to Fleetwood solutions (see post 13 for starters). Seems that the grille by itself does not solve the problem; you need the shroud between door and gen intake to ensure only colder air gets to the gen. Hope this helps a bit until the right article shows up.
