Generator Wont Start Inside

I can not start my generator from the inside my 2016 Thor Challeneger 37TB.

What i have done so far: I can shut it down from the inside, so i thought it was a bad switch. I tested the switch with a tester and it works. I tried to tone the start wire from the front to the generator wont trace. i tried tracing it from generator to from wont trace. I try doing a test with my AGS i hear it trying to switch it on but doesnt. I pulled the at the generator and jumper the two wires that start it and it works.

The question i have is are there a fuse in between the switch and the generator. If not i do believe i have a broken wire.

I would change the switch out. Then go from there.

A similar thing happened to me. There is a plug at the end of the wires that come off the switch (about 2 ft. long.) The wires originating from the generator also end with a plug. Look under the dashboard and see if the plug from the switch is securely connected to the plug from the generator. My plug had loosened up and once I pushed them firmly together the problem was solved.

Check the plug and connections from the generator to the switch. Takes a ground wire and two other wires, one for start and one for stop. The one for start could have an open somewhere between the generator and the switch inside. Pull the connector and spray it with contact cleaner and plug it back in. Sometimes that will fix the problem. In a motorhome many problems are either fasteners or connectors.

My generator will start from the dash switch but not from the panel..the light as well as the hours are not on unless the generator is running either.

I agree with Bob. I've found over the years poor connections and bad grounds too be the majority of my problems. When connecting the toad wiring to the motor home I spray all the connections with contact cleaner no matter how clean they look.

The light is on to tell you the genny IS running and you certainly don't want the hours on the genny adding up when the generator isn't running.
