I have used dish soap as well as many rinses. I believe there may be some small vegi shavings that make it past the strainer, as the wife loves to cook. She is careful however things get through. I'm guessing cabbage??? Small trade off for good dinners.

Well the soap and a few rinses did drop by 1 dot... So now down to 1/2 at empty.

If you have any luck I really await to see your results.

Not sure who you were asking. If it is me. I use it every time I empty tank. Nothing else.
Ii I'm storing the unit for a little time, I put 1 cup in the gray and black tanks. I also put some on top of the toilet seal and in each sink trap. Keeps the place smelling nice and as for the toilet, It keeps (hopefully) the seal from drying out.

Hello, I am relatively new but have experienced the same thing that you may be going through now. There could be of course several things. Assuming everything was working then the sensors are probably dirty. now if you're going to be driving you can dump the bag of ice down the toilet and let it slash around and it will melt. To clean the sensors. You can also check different products you can get a Walmart and other places to pour in to the tanks. I had an issue with the bad sensor and also bad ground cables. One was not even attached. So you could probably check that into yourself as well.

Did almost everything but jump into the tank and wash it myself..LOL

Just was wondering if there was a chemical that was specific to cleaning the contacts or a short cut other than replacing them.

There really is not much to the contacts, all depending on the style you have. Some are just 'buttons' to prevent anything from hanging on and some are 'electrodes' that may or may not be shielded, to limit what ever drapes over to make contact (with the contact). So, you could go to where your contacts are located and do a resistance check, then you may be able to remove them and try cleaning them?? (Yucky??)
But I was musing over this and wondered if you were driving during this latest cold snap and maybe the highways department had spread some salt on the road? I know the connections to my tanks is somewhat open to the elements and if I were to drive on salted roads, there would be a very good chance that the salty spray would get onto the external connections and wiring. Now salt is highly conductive and will cause erroneous readings if allowed to. But this is just a passing thought.

I think the OP wanted to know how to clean the contacts as they are giving wrong indications on the panel. Personally, I only 'clean' the tanks until the level indicator reads close, then I will use whatever concoction to keep it that way, typically the geo method and drive with it to the next destination.
Trying to 'sanitize' the tanks? THAT is furthest from my mad ideas.

Wow, what a hit. I saw so much salt from prepping the roads from Ice in NJ during the cold snap when I first leftI was coated in white dust from it. That is a good thing to look at. When I was far enough south and in a nice climate I had the rig detailed to get that crap off.

I'll look at the contacts as I am sure they are right in sight,If I'm Lucky/!!

Ah, so. I rarely look at mine so I don’t think like that. Mine are external and rarely accurate anyway.

You are correct. I flush the tanks often they do not need sanitization. However the fresh water tanks I do treat with bleach on occasion and flush the water lines to keep the slime at bay. Also help the house filter and brass screen from clogging.

With that all said I am just trying to get the indicators to read accurately again. Two of the 3 tanks have had similar issues and all seems since I was on the roan for a number of days and after a lot of rain and , yes salt in the air and under the cab.
