GS Phone Tech Support w/Elec Problem a + Experience

Hello all,

Took new RV on 1st trip my favorite CG in Bar Harbor. Everything was perfect except for a small glitch (that could have been bigger). Got all set up at the CG but had no power in RV except 12 volt. Surge protector showed all was good. The 30 amp switch at the pole seemed loose which made surge protector lights go off which made me think it was a CG problem so I called the office. CG guy checked power at pole and at the outlet on the outside of the RV and all was good. Because I purchased a Good Sam ESP (I know, I know but I did it anyway - price was good & I am aware of what is/is not covered) I also had to get a GS membership. The stuff I got included GS phone tech support. When she was pitching this to me I thought "yeah, right that will never work out as good as she made it sound" but I wanted the plan anyway so it was an added bonus. Well after the CG guy said all was good I called the GS tech support. The tech called me back in about 3 mins and after about 3 mins on the phone the problem was solved. He had me start up the generator. After I shut it off I had full power in the RV. I was so happy that I really didn't listen to his reason why it worked but it was something about relays, solenoids etc and starting the generator must have reset something.

The trip was great & was my first time RVing in 9 years. I was so happy to be back in that world. Wasn't very sunny at all but no real rain so I considered that a blessing. Have one more trip planned at a state CG with no hookups at all : O nothing else was really avail anywhere on a weekend - didn't expect that but this will be fun anyway. Take care all.
