headlights don't work
2017 Thor Challenger 37TB. Problem started on the way back from Florida last March. Noticed the daylight running lamp indicator being flakey, not consistent. After 6 months of trying to diagnose the problem, I have learned this. Headlights don't work when emergency brake is off. hear crackling sound like bacon frying coming from fuse panel below and left of steering column, when the multifunction switch(turn signal switch) is in the bright light position. Have replaced the two relays down there. didn't help. When the emergency brake is on, like when you are parked. the lights work. has something to do with the daylight running lamps. ?? has anybody had this problem. Somebody Help Me. PLZ.

Almost sounds like a bad ground.

Greetings
+1 on a loose ground, check around the ebrake pedal, cable and the wiring harness going to fuse block.
You could get lucky, bad grounds are always the hardest trouble to find.
First test would be push ebrake till it clicks 1 time, check lights then a couple more clicks check lights, repeat till the lights come on. All of this with your head under the dash...look and listen.
Welcome to the forum
Good luck, keep us updated.

Ebrake applies a ground when engaged, and that ground is probably backfeeding the headlight circuit.

headlights don't work
problem goes away with the first click of the ebrake. tried just leaving it in that first click position, no brakes are applied yet at this point, but the "ebrake on warning" does come on at the first click.
So what kind of a ground should I be looking for? black wire to something metal?

headlights don't work
so getting down there in the floorboard between the doghouse and the driver's chair is almost impossible, I may remove the doghouse to get more access? is that a mistake, may put some of that sound/heat insulation on the bottom side of the doghouse while I have it off. is that worthwhile?

When I had a headlight problem it was a ground wire on the frame drivers side under the hood.
