Question Proper tire pressure

2014 Thor Freedom Elite on Chevy chassis; Tire label on Chevy door post says 65 psi front and rear; tires say 80 psi... to what pressure should I inflate my tires? Thanks...

Did you not read the "Max" word in front of the 80? That's all tires have on them; the max pressure.

Start with what the manufacturer recommends, weigh your coach and adjust up or down as dictated by your axle weights (some will insist on individual wheel weights, but in reality, the left to right difference is minimal in the world of tire pressures).

Isn't that maximum pressure what they would use; to seat the bead on the rim?

Tire changer lubricants the tire and rim first, then only adds enough air for the tire to seat. After seating the tire then it is inflated to the proper pressure.

The 80psi on the tire sidewall is the absolute MAX a tire should be inflated to! Using the max pressure will give you a very rough ride and wear the center of the tires quickly.

Use either the door sticker or there should be a weight sticker by Thor that shows the proper inflation pressure.

Somewhere between 65 & 80 psi, wherever you get the best ride & best tire wear. Always check the pressures "cold" which means not being driven for quite sometime such as first thing in the morning.

have a look at this
Load & Inflation Tables | Michelin Truck

really should use the similar reference form your tire manufacturer....but I have been told by someone at Yokohama these are standards and all tire manufacturers use the same data (based on the tire size)

My suggestion...run the max pressure on your door post until you get weights. Do it ASAP, then adjust accordingly. The thing will drive so much better once you get the pressures set by actual weight
