Heat Pump vs. Thor Control Board
In June of 2020, we purchased a 2019, Thor Synergy from a private party and have been happy with it despite the few small glitches that always arise. We used the AC with the heat pump this summer then tried a month ago and it would not heat or cool. The furnace is fine. Everything else with the control board seems to be fine except the quantities of fresh water, grey water, etc. and I don't ever really expect those to be accurate. So the Synergy is in the shop getting the heat pump looked at and it seems that the problem is the interface between the Dometic heat pump and the Thor control board. Reportedly, Dometic wants to make certain that the control boards that are paired with their equipment actually works with their equipment (a novel idea) and the Thor board in ours is not one that is "approved". Thor is not returning calls to the dealer who is servicing our motorhome. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or any ideas what to do about the communication problem? This dealer is not a Thor dealer because they are a very good dealer and the dealers here are more concerned with selling than servicing. I made numerous calls to dealers without success.
