Heating Duct

Hello folks~!

2020 Thor Omni BH35

I had the drawers pulled out in my kitchen and noticed this hose (pictured). Seems to me this is supposed to be connected to something. I have not been able to find a way back there to get a better look.

Any suggestions and assistance is welcome.

Look for a nearby heating register - probably round and about 5 inches in diameter. If it doesn’t blow air when the furnace is running I guess you’ve found your target. You can remove the screw holding the register to the wall and reconnect the hose. It’s worth the effort.

In the lower left of the pic is that not the cold air return grill for the furnace? Inside on the left there appears to be a piece of duct also. So I suspect that loose piece should connect to the other piece (torn apart?) or connect to the furnace.

Looking online at an Omni, the furnace appears to be located behind the grill. Remove that and maybe you can remove the bottom panel inside the cabinet for more access? Good Luck!

The wood grate just pulls straight off for access to the furnace. Once it is off you can look around to determine where that hose needs to be connected.

More information...

Thanks everyone for the information. I came back from vacation and did more investigation. I was able to remove the grill and a few drawers so I could follow where the hose went. The other end goes into the floor (see photo). I did not see anywhere the open end would connect or another piece of duct that it may have been attached to.

Contact Thor?

I expect the warranty is over, but maybe contact Thor and see what they say about this 'lack of quality control'. Then ask what is your best recourse with them.

When you turn the furnace on; does air come out of the hose?

What do you have below the bottom drawer by the sink? It appears there are two furnace ducts there. Does air come out of those with the furnace running?

Do you have a storage compartment that is supposed to be heated?

Most likely it goes to an outlet on the furnace. The ducting goes to the floor and there is sheet metal ducting underneath to go across to the other side of the motor home and connects to an outlet. Check all of your outlets to see if any are not blowing air.
This happened to me.

I have one duct that goes into my outside compartment where my water tank and water pump are located to keep them from freezing in cold weather. Looks like it might be the same for you.

The other end of the duct probably looks something like this, it should attach to the heater.

No, no.. thats just the "Mouse Ingress Tunnel".
Mine was under the cabinet base in the bathroom of my Class-A Outlaw. Only the vent cover and screws were all wrapped up and taped to the hose. Kind of like saying - 'hey, finish this yourself'!

So after a little more investigation I found another duct that was tucked behind the little access panel under the kitchen drawers. I think that was the exhaust from the heater so since the hose in question went to a vent in the floor I connected them and secured them together. Thanks everyone!
