Did it come from Thor like this?
I got it with 2,500 miles on it & was thinking the prev owner wouldn't have done anything with it but that black elbow is also making me think someone did something to it - why would that be there?
SO the tubing HAS to kink to make the right turn to go out towards the outside of the RV wall where the drain valve is located. The kink has crap built up in it and the water obviously drains very poorly. (sorry 1st pic is turned wrong but it is close up of it coming out of tank kinked and going to the right)
Is there any reason I shouldn’t just cut it and have the drain under the RV to avoid this crap (other than the obvious that I will now have to go under the RV to drain and that the drain valve that is now on the outside wall of the RV will just be for show LOL?
Thanks,
Beth

That elbow looks like the low point anyway. Cut it right here

Considering the WH drain installed who knows what the previous owner did.

Thanks Bob - sounds like a plan.
EA37TS - LOL I put that in the post but then took it out. After seeing that WH hack, I'm going to have to go over every inch of this thing. They said they barely used it but now that I'm looking closer I have doubts about a few things they said. That's ok, I'll make her mine now and correct things.

If you cut the tube then there is no valve to keep the FW tank filled - it will just continually drain even when trying to fill. I would lengthen the tubing from the elbow over to the side wall of the coach to eliminate the kink. A couple of pex couplings, a short length of tubing and a hand full of pex clamps would do the trick. If you don’t have a pex clamp tool then regular worm gear clamps would work - that line isn’t under any pressure other than tank head pressure. You only need the plastic pex fittings and not the more expensive brass ones.

Yes, sorry I left that part out, when I cut it I'm putting a little drain valve on the tubing which I already ordered it.
jimbo12 - I didn't really think of that - humm maybe I'll do that instead.
Thanks again,
Beth

The only reason I mentioned it is because I find it convenient to have access to FW from the drain valve. It’s a quick way to get water to wash hands or rinse stuff off without going in the coach.
BTW - I have the same coach as you only a year older and FourWinds brand. I’ve taken it apart and put it back together so I know how it ticks - the OCD engineer in me. If you have any questions let me know.
And to answer the original question - yes, that’s the way Thor ran the water line. My coach is the same way only without the kink.

jimbo12 - Lucky you w/out the kink LOL.
I didn't think of the benefit of leaving the drain valve easily accessible for things like you mention. Also, if I ever sell it I'd rather it not have a dummy valve like that.
Ok you've changed my mind - thanks. I'll probably take you up on your offer of other questions as I plan on going over and understanding most every part of this coach before next trip in March (heading down your way to Myrtle Beach) and already getting psyched. Last time I was there was 2011. It's gonna be a long winter up here.
Take care,
Beth

At least Thor put a hole in the floor of your coach! In ours, they began drilling a hole in the floor, went 50% thru the plywood and stuck the tubing into the hole. Sure "looked good" from the inside of the coach until you go to drain the FW tank! SMH

Quick question for the OP, MH has only 2500 miles on it?
How many hours on the on board generator?
Did they truly only drive it 2500 miles or did they not drive it
very much but camped and ran the generator a lot?

Hi Phil,
The generator has 36 hours on it.
I took tomorrow off and I'm going to fix the FW drain issue - thanks everyone for the replies.
