ALCOA wheels polish

Looking for suggestions on keeping my Alcoa "Dura Bright" wheels looking shiny other than just soap and water.

Best bet is to find the "chrome dude" that hangs around truck stops. They polish wheels like you butter toast. They use a special rouge and polishing pads and they do it really quick. It's a much larger and messier job for an amateur than you can ever imagine. It turns your hands, face and everything else within 3 feet solid black. Really nasty job.

You better call Alcoa wheel and check with the manufacturer mine have a coating on them if removed may discolor them permanently, mine look great with just soap and water and so easy to clean.

if they are coated with clear from alcoa, then you just wash and wax

if they are uncoated like mine, then you wash, polish, wipe clean and rinse with fresh water and then apply a good coat of wax

I have coated wheels and spray them with Aerospace 303 when I do the tires

My Michelin 295.80.22.5 are 6 years old and look like new with very light side wall cracks

They will easily go 7+ years

On uncoated wheels in the past I used aluminum polish and then spray wax or a detailer spray

Consumer Reports

My Continentals (19.5in.) are 11 years old and not a crack or blemish and never have had a 'protector' applied.
I know, I know, I HAVE to put on new tires this year...

I use the 303 to get the nice black look when parked, not necessarily for tire life

And I douse covers so the black look is important to me

For others many products shouldn't be sprayed on tires
