HELP! Thermostat screen blank and temp is dropping to 18!

Hi All!

I turned the heat on a week ago and it was fine, I brought it to my mechanic to give a spring check up and test all the systems, and now the heat/AC thermostat is blank screen.

He said that he was running fine and the burner just had some debris in it. Is there some thing he could’ve turned off that I need to turn back on?

Temperature is going down to 18 and I’m D winterized. I’m worried about stuff freezing.

Bill

Get a space heater going if you're plugged in

If not generator until you get the heat back

Propane turned on?

Thermostats set for heat?

Go through your check list

Thank you. Yes I have two heaters going inside. I’m worried about the plumbing underneath. I poured antifreeze in the drains and I’m starting to winterize again in case I can’t figure out the thermostat.

It’s nothing from the check list. Has to be something turned off.

I assume you have a digital thermostat?

If so, and it's an OEM thermostat like this:

it's blank because it isn't getting 12 VDC from the furnace. There is an On/Off/Reset switch on the furnace behind the outer panel It should have 12 VDC both to the in and the out of the switch IF you have 12 VDC on the house DC buss and the appliance fuse on your converter/breaker panel is not blown.

If it is an aftermarket digital thermostat like this, it may just need the AA batteries replaced.

Open the cabinet so heat can get under the sink, same for the bath.
Close the slides.

We were fine at 0* in N Texas till we lost electricity because ERCOT started a rolling black out .
Guess what happens to a gas fired electric power plants source for natural gas get hit with a rolling black out YEP no nat gas to the elect plant shuts the elect plant down

Thank you so much! I’m just a little unclear about the fix. Yes, it is an OEM thermostat. So I go to the panel on the outside of the RV and do what?

Open it and find the switch. Make sure it is in the On position. Measure voltage at the switch to insure you have 12 VDC there. If you don't have or don't know how to use a voltmeter, call a mobile tech.

Also check fuses and breakers inside.

Unhappy Lost another one.

Man I hate it when a OP gets lost in the ether of the forum.... there must be a hole in the internet they fall into, always the same, no outcome of their journey.
