Deleting Mercedes Sprinter Service Message

Recently (May, 2020) bought a new Thor Siesta MB24 which, oddly enough, has a 2018 Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Recently, a message appeared on the control panel informing us that it was time to schedule a Schedule A service visit - a message that is evidently programmed to appear at 20,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first. In this case, two years came first because the chassis is a 2018 model. Odometer is at about 4,000 miles so I don't think an oil change is necessary. I've tried several ways to delete the message, but with no success. Any suggestions out there?

You don't "delete" it, you reset it.

Thanks for the link. However, I've tried that method, but evidently you must change the oil before it will let you reset the message and I see no need to change the oil at 4K miles. May have to endure the message (and associated beep) for some time.

We're getting the same "Service A" message on ours...
But we'll have our Dealer change it when we take it to them for Winter storage.
For a $145,000 vehicle: it's cheap insurance.
(even though it's not actually cheap! )

Thanks, Bob. Is your coach actually due for an oil change or is the message coming up at the wrong time. like mine?

The engine does not know if the oil has been changed unless you tell it that it has by resetting the notification. Maybe your procedure is different than the one I found and posted.

The oil is that old and its not the only thing they check or do. Should do it.

My message came on when I only had 16,000 miles and way under the 2 year time period so I made an appointment at my local MB dealership. The service rep looked at my mileage and told me that it wasn't needed at this point and I could wait until closer to the mileage marker and not the time marker so I left. I went back in a few months later at around 17000 miles and had it changed out. They reset the timer when it was serviced.

Not even close... Just 3000 miles in the first year...
But oil changes for me have always been more dependent on the calendar; than the odometer.
