Ah...I just noticed that you have a Dometic heater. Those are harder to replace the element on because itís on the inside where access is undoubtedly poor. The recommended priced is to remove the whole unit! But the good news is that on this style of heater the element is below the drain level so you maybe still had enough water inside to keep the element under water. So maybe youíll be ok. Hope so.

Thanks again everybody!!
If it's like mine there are valves at the top of the water heater and one below the water heater, then there is a vertical line and a valve. THAT valve must be closed to use the system and the top and bottom valves must be open. You will hear the tank filling. Once full, clear the lines of air and turn on the electric heater. It takes at least a half hour to heat with 110v. Then turn on the propane heater. You will hear it light and burn. Hopefully you have not burnt out your element. Easy change out. Don't know how you may have hurt the gas system. Dealership can help you with that! Good Luck; Bob
