Hot water heater gas shut off switch

I have a ws31 and with propane electric ignite.

I am winterized and it is cold here. I was in the unit today to get it ready for a trip. Turned the heater on to warm up the coach. to my surprise my hot water heater fired up. I shut off the propane switch on the panel that controls the gas to heater as well as the water heater, so I found out.

This is not my first propane heater but my old unit had a separate switch dedicated for the water heater for propane and electric.

Can anyone tell me where that separate water heater switch is so I can heat the home and not worry about heating up an empty water tank ??

I went crazy looking for the ignition switch for the dedicated water heater but no where to be seen. I believe it would be a seperate rocker switch with a indicator light that would go off when it lites.

Thanks. I feel pretty stupid here and any help would work.

I can fill the water tank and let it heat the water only so I have heat until I am in a warmer climate. That way I would burn out the water tank heating up empty and the temp sensor will cut it off. After 2 days I should be able to turn the pump on and let water in all the house lines but I do not want to until I am sure of more stable temps.

On the standard Thor control panel located on the entry door side of your fridge?

Yes it is there. Does the LP switch send the gas to the water heater as well as the heater?

Will my furnace run with this switch in the off position?

Is the LP switch just to control the water heater gas supply?

I was switching this on assuming the supply had to be turned to "ON" for the heat/furnace....to operate !!

If that is so then all I need to do to start my heater is turn on the storage power and turn the thermostat to HEAT .

Thanks in advance for answering my questions

Thanks.

The LP switch on the control panel is for the water heater.

^^^^^^BINGO^^^^^^

That LP switch is only for the water heater, not the furnace.
