Angry Hot water not working 2021 Thor 35M

First test camping trip, hot water not working. Propane is on as furnace, stove, etc. work. But no hot water, is there something they could have forgotten during PDI?

Did it work at the PDI? In any case you’ll just have to troubleshoot the problem. Is there water in the tank? Bypass valves open? Do you get hot water on electric? When you turn the heater on can you hear the igniter spark? Do you hear the burner “whoosh”? Can you light the burner with a fireplace match or lighter? Is there a propane valve on your gas valve? Is it turned on? When the heater fails to light is the “failed to light” light lit at the switch? Stuff like that. You can search for a troubleshooting procedure online with your model. Good luck.

Ok, found and fixed. For any future searchers... access the back of the hot water heater (inside the cabin). Look for two white valves, make sure both are turn to the point where their handles are pointed towards the heater. This of course is only helpful if your hot water heater has never worked as our valves were never turned on during PDI.

Outstanding. Glad you fixed it. Those are bypass valves used when winterizing. There ARE two valve bypass systems but three valves is more common. Are you sure there isn’t a third valve in between the two you found? If so it too should be pointing towards the tank closing off the bypass.

Glad to see that you're in hot water again... but in a good way!

It is a tankless. Luckily I don't mind fixing things myself and went in to buying an RV with realistic expectations based on my research on this forum prior to the purchase.

That is a good way to approach the purchase of an rv.
