House (auxiliary batteries)

We bought new (auxiliary)batteries for our Thor axis 25.2 and when my husband changed them over he screwed up and shorted them out.He then connected them properly but now we gave absolutely no power.We checked the main breaker ,and it won't reset and we pressed the circuit breaker in the battery compartment but it doesn't pop out..reset.Is there another switch we are missing.We plugged in our rv to our house and we still don't have power.Help please!!!

You need a multi-meter.
House power is 120 volts AC. Lighting is 12 volts DC
Converter changes 120 volt ac power to 12 volts dc for lighting and control circuits as well as charging the batteries.
There is a resetable inline 12 volt fuse within 6' of the battery.
There are Two 30 or 40 amp Reverse Polarity 12 volt fuses on the converter fuse panel you have blown by hooking up the batteries backwards.
Check the outlet you are plugged into for 120 volt power.

There are reverse polarity fuses in case this ever does happen. They are either located in the 12V Fuse Panel or they are on the Converter itself. Depends on the type of Converter you have in your coach.
