House Batteries

I cannot locate my house batteries. Sounds silly I know but I have looked under the stairs, the couch, dinette, bed, every compartment. I've looked under the coach. What am I missing. Owners manual has nothing. Again....feeling silly!

Usually Class C coaches have the house batteries under the steps that lead into the coach. You have to open the step compartment to access the house batteries. On Class A coaches they are usually located inside one of the exterior compartments. Some Class A coaches have a slide out battery tray and others don't. The house batteries may even be located in the front cap of the Class A.

With Shorepower disconnected and generator off, when you go inside and turn on the lights do the lights come on? If not; can you check the Battery Disconnect switch? If it is on, your batteries may be stolen?

Otherwise you need to give you year model for someone to tell you where they are suppose to be.

I don't know your coach but if they aren't under the steps like most Class C RVs then they are in a compartment, normally on the passenger side, most probably in battery boxes in one of the compartments below:

Sometimes they are in compartments on the driver's side. They will NOT be anywhere inside the coach or under the hood (but the chassis battery is under the hood).

He did not say what year, but I am going to take Hatch Door #3 with all I the money I have.

The below is for 2007 Thor Four Winds 31p

https://www.rvt.com/Four-Winds-Chate...07097-UX175156

OP,

Please take pictures of these compartment doors. In my picture the battery is inside a black battery storage container.

Note: While I may have been dismissed earlier, I still hold out the premise that the battery may be stolen? OP has not said anything that confirms he has DC Voltage leveraging house batteries. If not, and he can't find the batteries

But if he has House 12vdc voltage confirmed, then compartment #3 above is most likely location and my final answer.

I'll take that bet and say it is Door # 4. I'll PM you where to send all your money.

Now it's getting interesting...
The O.P. should confirm that he does have D.C. power available in the coach.
With that knowledge: we could dismiss or confirm that the batteries are present. (Wherever they are...)

You are right

Once again I have been out Ace'd by the ACE I had a former boss that once pulled me into his office and asked me did I know what happens when I ASSUME? He said it means I make a "axx out of u and me"

You tee'd me up with great picture and choices, and then I gave you the hammer to nail it

If the battery truly is stolen or missing, I may able save face and get back in the ballgame

Hard for me to imagine the OP not opening all of the compartments doors. Given that he did (my assuming again ) You would think it is impossible to miss seeing the battery, given that he was looking for it. Swoosh!!!! using my best Ace Ventura impression

Hey, you're the guy that found the ad with all the great pictures which pinned down the location. I just did a slightly better job of "interpreting" the battery picture. Hopefully the OP appreciates your diligent search.

It's not my money...
But I vote for splitting it in half, and sharing it equally!

What is half of zero?

In the State of Texas the presumptive value of my loss is $20,000. If I split the presumptive value with you and Ted that is $10,000 each that each of you would need to report as income on your taxes. I am sure both of you wish to follow the law. Because I always withhold any potential tax liability from payees as to not get crossed with the Federal Government, I think to split equally... you and Ted both owe me $2,000 each; so I can actually pay the taxes up front. Then because it is given I am broke; you may file a gambling loss of $2,000 each on your taxes. I think that works out best. If you need me to get an attorney to help you with the payments to me; let me know. It is the least I could do
