Water infiltration in box storage when you drive in the rain

Hi,

We have a water infiltration in storage compartment in front of double wheels of our Compass 23TK 2019. Water come inside compartment by the top.

There’s no seal as in the bottom of the compartment. There is a space between the outer wall and the top of the compartment.

Is-it normal?

I made a mistake. There is a black seal at the bottom. Here are two pictures of the bottom part with a black seal and the top part without seal. We see a screw aimed in the void at the top of compartment wall raised without a seal.

Does it also have to have black caulk in the top part of the compartment like the one we see in the first photo? If not, why does water enter the compartment or box storage when driving in rain?
