How do you get to the bypass valves on the Thor Windsport 27L

This may be here somewhere on the forum.

We are newbies at this.

How do you get to the fresh water valves on a 2016 Thor Windsport 27 L? There is a screen panel in the bedroom at the bottom of the dresser, and I can see the valves but I can’t reach them. The drawer above them has a solid bottom, and the drawer to one side has a small access hole in which I can reach them but I can’t see where my hand is when I have it on the valves.

There is an expanded metal screen ( what you would use on a bbq pit) in front of the valves. Does this screen come out and can you put it back in afterwards? I am tempted to remove the screen and replace it with a panel.

The water heater access panel has star screws on them and I need to make another trip to the hardware store to pick up a set.

I will try and post photos later.

The other problem is the electric water heater isn’t working. I haven’t tried the propane.

I also had the rotten egg smell. It is caused by water sitting too long. I used 2 quarts of peroxide from HEB, a 1/2 full fresh water tank, and flushed all of the outlets until the smell went away.

What year? I am not familiar with a 27 L but the 27K is the same as my ACE. As I recall you have to remove the drawers and there is a panel that has two screws that you can remove below the lower drawer. You can't block off the screen - that is the furnace return path.

Actually a 27L is a Chateau model not a Windsport. So which coach are we talking about?

Sounds like you know where the bypass valves are located, so just pull the drawer all the way out and lift the drawer front up and off the drawer track. That should expose an access panel held on by four screws that can be removed to access the valves. Reinstall all goodies when you are done.

Found it!

Now I feel dumb!

1. It is a 27k, not an L. K refers to floor plan, an L shaped dinette.

2. The access panel is in the bedroom, above the heater outlet and under the drawer. You need to remove the bottom center drawer, which is above the heater outlet. The access panel is the same color as the cabinet. The first time I looked, it looked like the piece under the drawer was one piece and solid.

3. The good news is the valves are in the right position. The bad news is I need to trouble shoot why the water heater is not heating
