How long can you run an RV air conditioner

Hi 1 month ago i fixed my Rv air conditioner but 3 days ago now need to be replace as it is not repairable so which rv air conditioner is best how long can run.

I assumed it was kommon knowledge; but even on this forum there can be no dispute that a Koleman Mach 10 Air Conditioner 45204-0792 (15,000 BTU) Signature Series - Textured Black is the best RV AC and it can last 20 years or more depending on how much you use and if you take care of.

My two units are 4 years old. If they ever die I will replace with the low profile units of the same. I have black now and they look fine, some say get white. I say get the best price.

Yeah, but the name Airxcel don't play as well. Maybe if I was User Name DAirxcel

I gave him a specific model number which happens to be a Coleman. I don't know if any one else has made other recommendations.

In my 40 years of owning RVs with A/C unit I have only had one fail and that was 20 years ago. I run them 24 hours a day, always on high fan. Back in the 80s someone told me to only run the A/C on high fan. This same person, a 20 year RV tech at the time to me the unit will almost never fail if it is run on high fan but will almost always fail if run on low fan. His recommendation has served me ever since.

I’m still running the original AC units in our 17-year old Mandalay. They both cool just fine.

We travel a lot in the summer. We’ve been on trips where they ran 24/7 for several days without an issue. We run ‘em while driving and while parked.

I've looked up 12v a.c. units.
I see advantage if you don't have an inverter.
I see no advantage if you have an inverter.

Last year, my family participated in BIKE ACROSS KANSAS. Three were riders and my daughter and I helped with the SAG support / water/ snacks/ rest stops. In addition to the five adults [age 19-75] we had two 6yo Bernese Mountain Dogs with us.
I basically ran my Coleman AirXcell Mach w/ softstart for nine days continuously . Temperatures ranged from 79F [night] to 104F with a mean of 97F. Hours were more usage on generator than shore power. We had zero problems with the AC, or really anything else.

i replaced my carrier units with air excells
i say 2x times now in 5 years
1st one the heat pump switch valve got stuck so only ac would work, technically its just an ac unit now sitting in the loft in garage

2nd was blower motor bearings
so i took good blower off heat pump unit



but overall they beat the pants off the carrier units
