Winter Cover for Class A

This will be our first winter to store our new Polazzo 33.2. Any recommendations for covers? Will there damage due to chaffing due to movement of the cover caused by wind? Any suggestions are appreciated.

If they are snug enough to keep them from flapping or shifting: then they can't damage your RV's finish.

... If...

It’s a big “if”, Bob. I tried one winter some years ago and no longer bother. It’s difficult to prevent flapping, it’s VERY awkward getting them on and off and mine always seemed to have water under it which makes a mess. I just “wax” twice a year and go bare. Some folks strongly support covers but at my storage facility I’d guess no more than 10% of units are covered.

Hi Pete!
I admit: I bought a cover... Once!
But after reading about real World experiences: we never used it.

I use a cover every winter.

I was hesitant at first because I tried one on our prior RV and one January windstorm ripped it completely off.

One the Axis it fits well and doesn't flap much.

Our storage lot looks like a swamp after it rains which means the straps often get frozen to the ground (which actually helps LOL). The current one came with a weighted bag you hook to the straps to make it easier getting them under the coach (just throw the weight under the coach and walk around).

At this point I can put it on and take it off by myself (although it is easier if I have a helper--they're mostly there to call 911 if I fall off the roof ).

Do you mind sharing which brand and website? I am thinking about covering my ACE this winter. Much appreciated.

A wise old RVer friend of mine had a cover. He said it was more trouble than it was worth. That at his age (mid 60’s at the time), it wasn’t worth the risk of climbing up the ladder and wrestling with it before and after each trip.

I had one from Elements. I bought it at the local CW.
