2015 Outlaw Bedroom Door Latch

I bought a used Outlaw and the rod to latch the sliding bedroom door is broken off. We have to put stuff on the way of the door so it does not slam open and closed.
Has anyone had a problem with the latch and if so, how did you fix it? Dealing with the place we bought it is a nightmare so I'm looking for alternative solutions.
