I have a brain f**t

Quick question for you electric experts……..

Two 12 volt 100ah batteries in series produce 200ah (in theory )

Two 6 volt 100ah batteries in parallel produce what? 100 or 200???

I'm by no means an expert on batteries but two 12v batteries in series produces 24V with 100ah

Two 6v batteries in parallel produce 6v and 200ah

Assuming your question was tilted per the brain f**t
I think you meant to ask if amp hours are doubled and I believe they are when batteries are connected in parallel (+ to +, - to -) and voltage remains constant.

Connected in series voltage is doubled and ah remains constant. I'm sure the battery gurus can chime in here.

No, two 12 volt 100ah batteries in series produce 24 volts and still 100 AH.

Two 6 volt 100ah batteries in parallel produce 6 volts and 200ah.

Yes to all of the above, but… It would be rare to have a 6v, 100 Ah battery. But maybe the original question was theoretical.

Virtually all 6v batteries are 220 Ahs each. So that two wired in series produce 12v at 220 Ahs.

That is the way the typical golf cart batteries work.

Told you my brain wasn’t working.

I meant to ask if two six volt 100ah batteries are wired in series, do we have 100 or 200 amp hours?at 12 volts
