Restoring the shine to fiberglass?

I have a dull 2015 Thor Ace - wondered what tips anyone has for restoring the shine to the gel-coat finish. Thanks

Well if you have UV faded gel-coat about the only really good option is....paint.

I've been using a product called Rejex (Amazon) in an attempt to hold off that paint day. It works well but does need to be reapplied seasonally.

It can be done sometimes. If it is too far gone you might get some shine but not what it used to be. You absolutely need a good dual orbital polisher with the right pads. McGuire's makes a liquid restorer to start with and then go from there with compounds and finally protective wax.

Unless you are up for a lot of work, I'd opt for having someone polish and wax it. I do ours myself and it's not an easy task. Here is a starter kit that would get you going if you should so choose. https://www.autogeek.net/griots-gara...ction-kit.html Then, a wax/synthetic polish for the final stage. I read really good reviews on this Collinite. https://www.autogeek.net/collinite-s...wax-ss126.html

If you value your life, don't ask the Missus to do it!

Seriously, if it ever warms up and quits raining down here I'm going to do the same thing with my Vegas. And, I won't be asking the GF for help!

Lightly sanding with 800 grit wet sand paper and water, followed but a rigorous buffing then a good sealant. This works just like a polishing compound with light grit but not as hard to do. You can't polish a turd...you need to dig into the dried out stuff and remove it. Covering it with "Shinola" won't work.
