Tire Pressure monitor Batteries

Hi. I have a Thor Miramar 2017. I installed a tire pressure monitoring system. Each valve stem has a sensor. How long you think the battery in each sensor will last, or recommend replacing?

Thanks

I replaced mine in 6 mo. on my first TPMS system, OR when the sensor was not reading at the indicator panel. Then the indicator seemed stuck on a few tires, so I am now replacing the entire system. Don't make analogies....

I listened to EA37 and put down $ to upgrade to something that actually works....

Yes 6-months is probably better. Tires are very critical for Safety.

Had the TST507 system & replaced batteries when it alarmed low battery.
Had 10 sensors on a dually & 5th wheel & replaced 6 batteries in a 5 years. Sold the system to a friend that replaced 2 of the batteries in 2 years til he sold his 5th wheel with the system.

I think it depends a lot on usage..

I have my tireminder sensor batteries last 2 years on our TT. I keep spares in the coach, if one sensor stops sending.. next convenient stop I replace all of the batteries..

My EEZ TPMS manual says about 2 years on average and that's what I've experienced.

In my previous system the batteries lasted 2 years.
My current system is 2 years old and the sensors are still going strong on the original batteries....

I replace mine the start of every season. Tire minder says a year so it works out just about right.

The TST 507 system checks the batteries when ever there is movement. Usually just starting the engine will bring the fronts on line. If you don't drive much the batteries will last about 4 years. I bought a stack of 12 batteries in 2016 on Amazon. I still have 4 in the drawer and I use 6 on the coach 2 on the dolly and 2 on car/truck towed on the dolly.

Don’t know about TST but TireMinder recommends replacement annually. They’ll even send you the new batteries for free each year. I’ve gotten lazy at times if they still work reliably and have gone two years.

Yep... on my second year with TireMinder... I've been lazy too about getting FREE new batteries . But the kit came with an extra set of batteries. I'll pop those in next spring.

On the list for getting batteries this fall...

When the monitor reads No S (no sensor) for a position, change the battery at that location. I’ve changed 2 on the coach and one on the toad for that reason this trip.

Fortunately & one of the reasons I bought the TST system, good reputation also, is they have user replaceable batteries that are available anywhere batteries are sold. I always had spares if needed or could get them quickly, no waiting on a shipment.

Tire Minder uses standard off the shelf batteries, we just get them for free and no shipping Tim’s involved. Order more batteries when the old are replaced.

I have a TST system that I installed and the manual states annually for the batteries. I pushed it once to about 18 months and dealt with total grief trouble shooting issues. Now it is annually before each travel season, and I am good to go . . . .with a reliable system!
