Jack Stabilizing Reservoir Pump
Hi all,
We own a 2021 Thor A.C.E 32.3, we have had it for a year and have worked out all the kinks, upgraded a ton of things which has made driving it safer and more comfortable to drive, all of which has come from suggestions and ideas straight from this Forum, so again a million thanks to all the help from here.
Latest question. I fire up the RV, vehicle is in park with emergency brake on, once i release the emergency brake, the Jack level board starts beeping telling me the jacks are down, i know they are not, but put the emergency brake back on, level board goes silent, i climb out double check that the stabilizers are in fact up, they are. I climb in release the emergency brake, the board starts warning again, and i motor down the road, eventually the board stops blinking and the warning noise goes off.
i call my dealer who advises that i need fluid in my jack level stabilizer reservoir pump tank. that's fair, but where in god's name is this pump tank, and what kind of fluid do I fill it with. I have checked the owner's manual and there is nothing about this pump in there.
anybody have an idea to point me in the right direction?

Easy to find if you don't mind getting under your ACE
But first check the propane compartment, look for several hoses
Ours (E450 chassis) is on the driver side, pick your favorite jack, find the attached hose and trace it back to the pump.
Keep us updated on your progress

For fluid, the leveling system manual will tell you the proper fluid to use. It may also be listed on the reservoir cap.

The Thor “owners” section should have the information you need along with what is in the black bag that comes with the RV. The fluid will be some type of ATF.

The leveling system does stabilize, but it's a leveling system, not a stabilizing system.
The hydraulic pump, manifold and reservoir is normally in the battery compartment. In your floor plan that is probably the front compartment on either the left or right side.
Being extremely low on fluid MAY cause your problem but the alarm is set off by a lack of retracting pressure to the jacks. If instead of driving with the alarm you told the panel to retract the jacks until the "jacks deployed" light goes out it should eliminate the alarm. You likely have a slow hydraulic leak in a jack or hydraulic line/fitting which allows the retracting pressure to bleed off over time.
Although you can top off with most any hydraulic oil/ATF you may want to use ant-stiction fork oil:

It stops the popping/squeaks associated with the hydraulic rams.

When I had a fifth wheel, many on the form had the popping or slow dropping occur over time. Several additives from various manufactures were tried. The only one that was consistent over time was CAT hydraulic oil additive 1u-9891. It is not cheep and some required two quarts. I too had to do this and it worked. The most expensive are the cheaper ones that do not work.

I had the same situation with my Big Foot hydraulic leveling system. Mine started beeping while I was driving... I nearly freaked out that they had somehow extended!
I called Big Foot... a tech suggested it was simply air in the system preventing the cylinders from fully retracting and pressing the "fully retracted" switch at the top of each jack.
He talked me through a procedure of:
Fully extend all four jacks... Starting with the front FIRST. The e-brake keeps the rear wheels from rolling. Then FULLY... extend the rear ones as far as they will go. Your RV will now be "on stilts" likely with wheels off the ground.
Let it sit this way at least a couple hours, then retract them. I actually did this twice, and have had NO issues since.

Cat additive or fork oil are the best I have found. Marvel mystery might help but not always. One of the benefits of the additives is reducing the popping when a jack leaks down a small amount.
Mercon V or any synthetic automotive transmission oil is fine. Used it for many units and years.

Jack Stabilizing Reservoir Pump
Have you tried simply pressing the retract button when it beeps? My jacks sometimes drift down ever so slightly. They look to be up but apparently are not. Retracting always has done the trick.
