Loose bolts in floor
The wife noticed some bolt heads working their way up through the linoleum floor at the bathroom entrance of our ACE. I had this happen once last year and had to slit the floor to tighten the bolt. That one has started to show again also. I believe they are bolts holding the box to the chassis but not sure if there is a fastener on the other end that has come off. Anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried taking a peek underneath your rig? Perhaps you can get to the other side of the problem from down there...

Thought about it but I wanted to ask before I got down there. At this point of my life it’s a lot harder getting up than it is getting on the ground.

Bruno, WOW, what size where the bolts and what about the possibility of a nut on the other side? Do you feel the nut was welded when you tightened and did you torque it?

The first one tightened down and seemed to be tight. That’s why I thought the problem was fixed. I’m in Texas right now so it will be easier to crawl underneath. A lot warmer here than Ohio.

I had the same problem. Here's a picture of what came through my floor.

That’s the one. Did you fix it or did you have it done by someone else? My worry is the ones I can’t see. Would hate to be driving down the road, hit a bump and leaving the chassis behind while the family heads out to meet the Lord.

It was still under warranty so a Thor authorized dealer fixed it and repaired the vinyl.

Yup!
Try putting a foam mattress on top of a "creeper", and you'll be able to nap under there for hours, before they catch you!

Thanks Bob. Always looking for a good place to nap. I’ll give it a try[emoji484]

That's not a bolt, it's a screw.

Would you mind sharing where that screw popped up in your RV? We have the same model and I'd like to see if we have a potentially similar problem.

Guys, surely the box can not fall off the chassis, can it?
Do we have any reports that this has happened?
What does that bolt...excuse me, screw, do?

Mine came up between the fireplace and sofa - right in the middle of the floor so that it was still visible with the slide out in. It was gradual: going from nothing, to a very small bump, to a large bump, to popping through the vinyl.
The dealer that repaired it called Thor first. I believe they said it was to hold down the wood flooring.

Thanks! I just checked ours and don't see or feel anything like that, fortunately. One more thing to look out for in the future.

Try putting some glue or silicone seal in the screw hole or on the threads to hold in place, wipe off the excess. When they build these they may over torque the screws when using air powered tools which tears the wooden threads
