Larger propane tank mod or external hookup
All
I have a 2020 Quantum class C which has a 40lb propane tank that gets used up pretty quickly. I've taken I look under the chassis and there appears to be plenty of room for larger tank. Has anybody converted over to a larger tank or have any knowledge about how to go about doing it?
Secondarily where would I find info on hooking up an adapter so I could attach and external tank for propane when I staying for extended stay if larger tank conversion is not an option.
Thanks

Be careful. Many of these 'extend-a-stay' adapters are built poorly and leak. Often they don't do anything to keep them from unscrewing (like sealer and threadlocker).
I found the Sturgi-Stay to be better built and available with valves so you are not counting on the quick disconnect as the only seal.

so if your big tank is low or empty folks use this to connect the external adaptor to this type of hose and to a regular 5 gal external tank?

Yep. It also allows you to run gas appliances off the RV's tank without bringing an external tank.

soory if big tank is out of gas and you have the smaller 5 gal tank..you need to have that to hook up and use with this hose? in other words empty main tank and need gas?

You can use a portable tank to supply your RV with propane by using one of these, yes. Thats why its called extend a stay. It isn't used to fill the RV's built in tank, just a secondary supply.

Here is how my external adapter looks like ..has some hole the allows some type of insert..so if I have the extend a stay hooked to smaller cylinder it will push propane to the heater appliances like it came from the main tank?

That is a hookup for a external propane appliance. No, that isn't where you would hook this up. The extend a stay stuff connects between the built in propane tank and the regulator.

No not quite. The Extend a Stay and other similar adapters connect directly to an external propane tank, not through a regulator so it is high pressure propane. But if you use a regulator on your external propane tank, preferably a two stage regulator for better flow, you can hook up to the quick connect fitting.
That quick connect fitting is often used to connect to an external appliance but it can equally work to feed the MHs low pressure propane system from an external regulated tank. Be sure to turn off your main propane tank first.
