Leaking Shower Wand

Getting ready for first long trip of the season and checked all water outlets including the shower. And, it was leaking.

Original thought was it was leaking from BEHIND the hot/cold water mixing valve. Closer inspection revealed water was seeping out from where the shower hose connects to the mixing valve.

Cut water off, removed shower wane hose from the hot/cold mixing valve, put plumbers tape on threads of mixing valve, reassembled, cut water on. Leak was more pronounced. Tried attaching hose to valve from several angles, with and without plumbers tape, without success. Noticed that plastic washer inserted into end of shower hose was larger than the recess in the bottom of the mixing valve.

Since it is a molded unit will be replacing entire shower assembly. Any recommendations as to a good unit.

Yeah - apparently several times 'cause close look showed threads were all chewed up. Never used the shower last season so to put it mildly I was surprised by the leak.

Guess I'll stop at RV store on the road tomorrow to see what they recommend for the "bottom end". Not really in the market for high $$$$ shower kit that will collect more dust than use.
