Leaky radiator hose

My Thor Tellero has had a leaky radiator hose since I purchased it in June . The heavy duty alternator installed by Thor causes the Ram standard hoses to not fit and Thor Motors has not been able to provide the correct hose for nearly six months. Has anyone else had this problem or know where I can get the proper radiator hose. I haven't been able to take a long trip since I bought it.

How would Rock Auto be able to supply him any hose other than the RAM standard hose which the OP said does not fit due to the UHG add-on?

What year is it? That link to a previous post was back mid 2022. I can believe this hasn't been resolved by Thor yet...if your's was new in June. If used, maybe it was traded in that way as a result of previous, unsolved issues.

There is a recall on that system- pdf attached for the fix. Find a Business link Ram dealer that can help. Dealers are ill equipped to advise much less fix this problem. You need a tech that is innovative.

I found my leak at the very top of the hose that goes down past the UHG, and added a 2nd clamp to it. Stopped the leak. You can see the leak in the pic below- drip coming from up above that low clamp.

Make sure the belt and hose are not touching- 1/4- 1/2" apart at least.
PM me about installing silicone plugs in the modular connector for the UHG- moisture can get inside and ruin the alternator. Also be sure all connections are tight!
Good luck!

On hot rods we commonly have to make up our own radiator hoses when doing engine swaps. In the old days we would go to a local auto parts store and look until we found two formed hoses of the proper diameter that we could splice together with a a piece of stainless steel tubing and two hose clamps. Now days you can purchase high quality silicone hoses in a variety of sizes and shapes than splice them to make the shape you need. On line stores like Speedway Motors, Jegs or Summit Racing have kits with all the different shaped bends along with straight pieces and the hardware to make up any hose you like. If you’re a do it yourself type it would get you on the road possibly quicker than waiting for a replacement hose.
