LED upgrade/conversion- fluorescent to led strips

Anxious to do this.

Questions for anyone who has done this successfully:

1. There seem to be 10 mm and 8 mm led light strips. The led light strip -connectors- need to be the same size....yes?

2. when fitting a 2 florescent bulb fixture with 2 led light strips-

the 2 strips' wires are connected (hot to hot; grnd to grnd) and then those connected led light strip "bundles" are connected to the power source (hot to hot bundle; grnd to grnd bundle)?

Thanks so much.

Not sure if I know exactly what you are trying to do...
The roll of leds typically found (amazon or eBay) are wired with groups of 3 leds and associated resistors in series... each group of 3 wired in parallel to other groups... They can be cut to length every 3 leds.
These sections (or entire rolls) can be wired either in parallel or series with other lengths because of the series/parallel wiring.
The connectors are either 2 wire (single color), 4 wire (RGB), 5 wire (RGBW).

If replacing fluorescent bulbs, typically need to either remove the ballasts, or buy led strips that work with a fluorescent ballast.

Welcome to our Campfire!
Question: what year is your RV?
Most of the newer ones are already equipped with LED lighting
(They save a whole bunch on power usage!)

The easiest way to do it is to replace the standard florescent bulb with LED tubes made for florescent fixtures.
F13T5 bulbs are about $20 for six

I replaced the running lights with LEDs from eTrailer. The red prism cracks in the Florida sun and to many designs(of the same) to find an exact replacement, so got red and amber LEDs, whole unit. Nice and bright. Ran a bead of clear silicone on top edge, keeps water out.

Next project is to replace the taillights. Found the triple tail light on eTrailer. Same size and LED. I tried to replace a burnt out tail light and found all the screws rusted out and the inner compartment wet and rotting. 3 years old. And we are 3400 miles from home.

Gotta love Thor...

Do you have any pictures of those lights in action?

Once we get back east

I’ll be back in two weeks, and will install the taillights and post.
