Light switch hanging with screws

I have a Thor 2017 four winds motor home . One of the light switches above the couch is hanging with wires and screws. The screws don't keep the switch flush against the panel . The switch hangs upside down over couch. I don't want to use super glue in case I would have to ever get to the wires .Any good adhesive ideas to keep switch from hanging ....as I said the screws don't stay in the holes Any help is greatly appreciated ....Frank and Jane

One of my favorite tricks in such situations is to dip toothpicks into wood glue and break them off in the existing screw holes, flush with the surface. Let the glue dry fully, then gently screw the switch (or whatever device) back into the now-smaller screw hole.

We used to fill in the holes with hardening putty, and then re-drill them.
Epoxy might work also, as long as you can get it drilled, and then start a screw into it.

That's a good idea with the toothpicks dipped in wood glue. You can also use a small wood dowel with with wood glue .

With the thin luan panels that Thor uses, the toothpick trick may not work all that well. I’ve ended up just using the plastic wall anchors which seem to hold well enough for light duty stuff. For heavier duty I think you need to use the spring toggle type anchors that grab the back of the wall. Kind of overkill for a switch, but you don’t have much meat to work with.

We just mounted a paper towel holder in a "kind of thin" panel...
We're going to go behind the panel, and lay some quick-drying epoxy around and on the screws. It'll stiffen-up the mounting area, and give a larger base that will never pull through.
