Light under slideout

Had to fix the bottom dinette drawer and see light coming in to motorhome. My wife calls me the bug man so do not want bugs coming in ?

Anyone modify or seal this area.

I see wires above plastic strip

I found the samething on mine. I have a 20 foot borescope, I was looking at all the rollers on my slideouts and what was under my bed, all the electronics. I noticed all the crappy wiring and the seals. I bet anything could crawl in there, especially where you go. I bet next time you go to Florida one of those 2 pound cockroachs has an eye for that little hole in the seal and out west those big scorpions crawling in, don't forget the big rats and mice. Those Florida cockroachs lay their eggs in you ear when you sleep, and the babies eat the eardrum to get to the brain, make sure you wear ear plugs, all the locals do. Better get those seals fixed quickly

They're the pet than never dies, they live forever. When I was young we moved into a new apartment complex and someone moved in next to us and the cockroachs started coming through the party wall. The superintendent helped me caulk every opening under the sink, top of the cabinets. We got it down to 7 a day, we broke our lease. We sprayed all the furniture when we moved, we left all the furniture outside in the cold, we brought everything in piece by piece. We had one come out of a chair I soaked all the furniture again and sprayed all the rooms and carpet and never had one again. I can't stand those things. It was like 3 years ago when we got carpenter ants and killed thousands and thousands that were in the motorhome ceiling, I had to pay an exterminator to get rid of the rest

Holy holy crap! I hate them. I ran away from home at 16 and took an oath to kill all bugs entering my home.
NM has Roaches. We just bought our home built in 2015.
Lora saw a couple Roaches and said I feel sorry for your entire family.
Bug man is on top of it.

We built a 6000 sq ft home in AZ near lake pleasant and scorpions tarantulas all over.

I eliminated them.

The entire family calls me bug man.

Having dogs I use Zevo.

Tested on 4 ant colonies.

All gone!

I carry in the MH.

Funny story. In CA last June and parked at a Camp site next to in ground Wasp nest. Others said we have been here days and they bother us.

I said stand back.

Came out the MH with 2 can Wasp spray and covered my face.

Out of a movie I sprayed both into the nest.

2 hours later all gone

Interesting

I have always used Bayer Tempo for our pest control for many years. Also, a safe product for kitchen and dogs.

It is available in emulsion or powder form

I use the powder in the Tuscany for all those potential spaces where the seals are and storage or out of the way areas

I have used BioAdvanced
Complete Insect Killer and it kills everything but it has to dry before pets can come out

There have been dozens of posts on this subject.

Per another post about this same tooic earlier this week….. I had my wife make material covers with Velcro sewed in around the perimeter. I then put adhesive backed Velcro on the underside of the slide.

When I extend the slide, I put the covers over the openings. When I am ready to retract the slide, I remove and stow them.

I mentioned in the other post tjat I would take pictures of what we did and post them in a week or so. We’re down at our home in Florida and will be heading north late next week. So once I’m back there and have access to the coach, I’ll take and post the pictures of the covers I had my wife make and how I attach them.

a while back i added second flapper seal to the lower parts of slide to stop air and critters
used velcro to hold 1st flap of rubber, but later on added some self tapping screws with wide washers to keep it in place better, left the pipe foam and its been in there now 5 years or better .

We stuff a towel in the channel after extending and remove before retracting. it works for us.
here in Alaska where the mosquitoes are abundant, it is a necessary. also, when in cold temps, it helps keep a little cold air out.
another bug entrance we have is the vent over bathroom. that s a very poor fitting screen.
we checked every screen in the house to verify seal and adjusted when inadequate seal, there were several openings. this helped greatly in keeping mosquitoes out.
