Surge suppressor and GFI
I have had issues in the past like many others plugging into a 15 amp GFI protected outlet at home to run fridge and other light loads.
Today I was replacing an outside outlet at my MIL house that is protected by an inside GFI outlet. I wanted to use my surge suppressor as a circuit tester to verify good ground, correct wiring, etc. But as soon as I plug my suppressor into the outlet, the GFI kicks. Nothing plugged into the suppressor at all.
I tried a load that required a grounded connection with no issues so I THINK the outlet is OK. And yes I'll pick up another circuit tester when I can to double check.
