What kind of coach do you have? Whatever kind, this is not normal. There should be no holes to the outside world in your RV. If it is new, take it back to the dealer. If it is not, cut a piece of plywood and screw it over or under the hole (whichever works) and caulk it. Post a picture or two and you might get other ideas.
