Location of BIRD/Battery switch 2017 Windsport 35C

Hi all!
I am new to forums in general. I am not new to RVing. I am new to this 2017 Windsport 35C.

When driving down the road, the house batteries are not charging. They charge fine when on shore/generator through the converter but not from the engine alternator. I am familiar with how the BIRD controls the Trombetta and know how to check to see if they work. The issue is where are they located? Tech support said to look in the battery compartment or the firewall. I checked both and cannot locate. The main wiring harness from the house batteries runs parallel to the frame into the front of the firewall then goes behind the firewall which is the dash location. I am really hoping it is not in there because if so, my next question would be how do you remove the top of the dash to gain access to said components?

Does anyone have any information on the whereabouts of the BIRD and Trombetta switch (assuming they are near each other).

Thanks in advance.

My 29m has B.I.M. battery isolation manager. The BIM replaced the bird. Its in the back of the battery compartment on my coach. Easier to see from the back.

Much thanks halfprice! That is the problem! The real problem is now I know what the bundle of wires goes to in the battery compartment!

I will have to order one!

Sorry i cant remember. But you can easily follow the cable from the battery to the bim to determine that.

I called their customer service and they were great, (630) 515-9100. Ended up mine was fine. But I was told they have a 5 year warranty. The tech said he would walk through a bunch of troubleshooting and if it was bad he would send a new one.

Call them

Jerry

House battery wiring on 2017 Thor Windsport 35C....does anyone have the correct layout of the wires going to the 2 parallel batteries? A picture of a correctly wired setup would be worth a thousand words.

Same as any other pair of 12 volt batteries in parallel.

Now if you don't know what the external cables are for/go to that's a different predicament. If that's the case then you need to trace out the cables:

One common ground should go to a frame connection point.
One cable should go to a 50 amp DC breaker for the house loads through the battery disconnect latching relay.
One cable should go to a 100 amp DC breaker for the hydraulic levelers motor and generator starting.
One should go to one side of your BIM or Trombetts solenoid.
If you have an inverter, one should go to a large DC breaker or Fuse/Fusible link for the inverter. There may also be a separate ground wire going to the inverter.

House batteries setup on Windsport 35c.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I will have to trace the wires down tomorrow.
