Locks on tow bar

We had an issue this winter with the locks on the tow bar to the car. When we were preparing to return home this winter and tried to attach the tow bar to the car, we could not get the locks open. Someone kindly sawed them off for us. Any suggestions as to what we need to do with the locks so this doesn’t happen again.

Exactly which locks are you talking about? The extendable leg locks or the other locks that require a key or combination?

Keep them well-lived with a dry lock lubricant.
You should also keep a lighter with you; heating things up can also help.

When we traded mh's.
I thought I was going to have to cut the lock that keeps the tow bar on the mh.

But a squirt of "PB B'Laster" fixed it, would not have been fun cutting it off

The shear pins can (have been) be a problem when the toad is trying to roll.
